Good progress was made by the Worcester Restitution Committee - a committee of residents of Worcester who are exploring how local people can build relationships so that they can heal the wounds caused by the Worcester Bombing on Christmas Eve 1996. Khulumani is represented on the committee.

Image above: Father Michael with Linda Sibeko and Rev Jan Ungerer at the event. Both Linda (a former Mayor of Worcester) and Jan (A Dutch Reformed Minister in Worcester) are steering committee members of the project.

Fr Michael Lapsley addressed a meeting of the Worcester Restitution Project on Friday evening 8 April 2011. The transport and refreshments at the event was sponsored by the Cape Winelands Municipality.

Image 2: Floris Brown (a well known Worcester poet) reciting the English Version of his poem "Mama Africa is bleeding" in English. The poem was specifically written for the event and was also translated and recited in Afrikaans and isiXhosa.
