Khulumani Launches a Dedicated Enforced Disappearance Blog to Mark International Week of the Disappeared Featured

The International Campaign Against Enforced Disappearances The International Campaign Against Enforced Disappearances

Khulumani has launched a dedicated blog about the unresolved history of enforced, involuntary disappearances in South Africa to mark International Week for the Disappeared. Khulumani honours those who disappeared, brings the story to light of one who returned, and calls upon the government to stop the gross human rights violation of enforced disappearance from ever occurring again.

Given South Africa's apartheid history and its commitment to consolidating a human rights culture post-1994, it is regrettable that the South African government has not to date signed or ratified the International Convention to protect All Persons from Enforced Involuntary Disappearances.
